A6VE

A6VE is a variable plug-in hydraulic motor. The motor body sits deeper inside the mechanical gearbox than a normal external flange motor, so less space is left hanging outside the drive. That small detail matters on crawler machines, travel gearboxes and other builds where the rear of the gearbox is already crowded.

Inside, it uses a bent-axis piston group. Displacement can change while the motor is running. A larger setting gives more torque at lower speed; move toward the smaller setting and the same oil flow produces more shaft speed. You are not stuck with one fixed motor behavior for the whole machine cycle.

What makes our version different is the supply route. SheungChak machines and assembles the motor as an OEM product. Shaft, flange, control type, port plate and displacement setting are checked against the customer's machine before the build starts. A full old-model code is useful, but a drawing and several clear photos often tell us just as much.

The centered recessed flange, broad displacement adjustment and gearbox-oriented construction are core features of this motor layout.

Key Features & Benefits

Compact gearbox installation
Part of the motor fits inside the gearbox, helping reduce the overall drive length.

Variable displacement
The motor can adjust to different speed and torque demands.

Bent-axis design
Its compact internal structure supports high-pressure mobile drive applications.

Open and closed circuits
Both circuit types are available. Port and control details should be confirmed before production.

Multiple control options
HD, EP, HZ, EZ, HA, and DA controls are available for hydraulic, electric, two-position, and automatic operation.

High working pressure
Small and medium sizes are suitable for 400-bar-class applications. Size 250 provides higher displacement at a lower pressure rating.

Optional functions
Flushing valves, boost-pressure systems, speed sensors, and counterbalance valves can be added when required.

OEM matching
We match the shaft, mounting, rotation, port plate, and control type-not just the displacement.

Control options include proportional, two-position, pressure-based, and speed-based control.

How It Works

product-800-800

1) Oil loads the piston group
High-pressure oil enters through port A or B and fills the active piston chambers. The oil pushes against the pistons. No complicated story here-that pressure is the force that starts the motor turning.

product-800-800

2) The bent-axis group turns the shaft
The cylinder block and drive shaft do not sit on one straight centerline. Because of that angle, piston force becomes rotation rather than simple back-and-forth movement. The splined shaft then carries the torque into the gearbox, wheel drive or other external load.

product-800-800

3) Displacement changes the result
The controller changes the motor displacement between its selected minimum and maximum settings. More displacement generally means more torque and less speed. A smaller setting does the opposite. Oil leaves through the low-pressure side, returns to the circuit and the cycle carries on.

Motor speed is linked to inlet flow and displacement, while torque is linked to displacement and the pressure difference across the motor.

Applications & Industries

product-800-800

Construction Machinery

A common fit for excavator travel drives, crawler carriers and drilling rigs. Part of the motor sits inside the gearbox, which is useful when space around the track drive is tight.

product-800-800

Agricultural Machinery

Field machines need strong pull at low speed, then quicker travel between jobs. Variable displacement lets one motor handle both.

product-800-800

Road Equipment

Rollers, pavers and sweepers spend much of the day creeping, stopping and reversing. A short plug-in drive works well here.

product-800-800

Forestry Equipment

Loads change quickly in forestry. Mud, slopes and frequent direction changes are all part of the job. The A6VE suits compact drives that still need a broad torque and speed range.

product-800-800

Material Handling

Carriers and transfer machines may switch between pulling, positioning and travel. Changing displacement helps the drive adapt.

product-800-800

Stationary Drives

The motor can also run fixed gearboxes, test rigs and process equipment. Cooling, case pressure, braking load and running time should be checked first.

Most A6VE motors go into mobile gearbox drives, although stationary systems are also possible.

About Us

SheungChak is an independent OEM producer of hydraulic piston pumps and motors. The A6VM motors on this page come from our own production and supply program. We are not buying completed branded motors and moving them on under another name.

Replacement work usually starts with the old code, but the workshop needs more than that. Shaft photos. Controller side. Port side. Machine use. On larger Series 63 units, one wrong port plate or control direction can stop the installation before the machine even starts.

FAQ Display Content

1) Is A6VE a pump or a motor?

It is a variable hydraulic motor. Oil pressure and flow enter the unit, then the shaft sends mechanical torque into the gearbox. A piston pump works in the opposite direction.

2) Can it run in both open and closed circuits?

Yes, but the motor code cannot be selected from that answer alone. Control type, case-drain arrangement, braking condition and the rest of the circuit still need checking.

3) How do I choose the right displacement?

Start with required shaft torque and working speed. Then check available oil flow and pressure. Bigger displacement gives more torque for the same pressure, but it also needs more flow to reach the same rpm.

4) Does variable displacement reduce fuel use?

It can help the complete drive work closer to the torque and speed it actually needs. Still, the motor by itself cannot promise a fuel-saving percentage. Pump control, engine loading, gearbox ratio and machine cycle all have a say.

5) What maintenance does an A6VE motor need?

Keep the oil clean, watch case-drain pressure and do not ignore temperature. A sudden rise in drain flow, noise or housing temperature normally deserves a check before the motor is allowed to keep working.
A minimum cleanliness level of ISO 4406 20/18/15 was specified for the broad Series 63 range, with tighter cleanliness required at very high oil temperatures.

6) Can the motor be supplied with a gearbox or counterbalance valve?

We can discuss the motor as part of a gearbox-matching project, and selected builds can use a counterbalance-valve arrangement. Send the gearbox drawing and brake-release details early. Adding them after the motor has been finished is usually the expensive way around.

7) How is A6VE different from a fixed piston motor or an orbital motor?

A fixed piston motor stays at one displacement. A6VE changes displacement, so the drive has a wider usable speed and torque range. Compared with an orbital motor, it is aimed at higher-pressure gearbox drives rather than simple low-speed auxiliary rotation.

8) What information do you need for a quotation?

The full model code is best. Also useful: old-unit photos, displacement, control type, shaft, mounting flange, port plate, direction of rotation, machine model and required quantity. Send the back-side photo too. That is where many control and port differences show up.
